Chicoreus ramosus ORANGE-SPINED - 1054435

A GORGEOUS ORANGE MOUTH ON THIS UNUSUALLY SHAPED RAMOSUS

The "Tambuli" as the Visayan people call this species, delicious to eat, and one large piece is a meal for several. There is no waste, as after the meal all shells arrive either in the Philippine houses for decoration, in the shell craft or in collections, the latter being unfortunately a minimal minority.

This Muricid is large and the shell has a charm which is not to compare with any other shell. In rare cases, the spines are orange colored, a remnant from the young ramosus which is often bright orange all over.

But this is one of the BEST ORANGE ADULTS EVER. The shell is, with 129 mm, big already. The siphonal canal is short, unusually short, which gives a particular shape to the ensemble of the shell.

Estimation: great collectors item, quite large, a beauty: 100-150 euro.
